Regional Research Station Sui, Lohaghat was established in 1992 under control of G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar, U.S. Nagar, Uttarakhand. It is situated near Lohaghat at village Sui at 800 10’ E longitudes, 290 60’ N latitude and an latitude ranging from 1700-1800 m. above mean sea level. The climate of the area is humid temperate with maximum temperature ranging from 16.90 C to 30.60C in summer minimum temperature varying from -0.9 0C to 16.80 C in winter. Monsoon occurs from third week of June to the end of August month. The hail storm is common in month of May to June. Sometimes snow fall is also observed in winter months (January to February). The soil type is loam to sandy loam having about pH range from 6.5 to 7.0.The centre has developed horticulture unit and planted various fruit crops viz. pomegranate, pear, peach & kiwi in 2.0 ha area.
