Agroforestry Research Center was established in 2003 under Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. It is situated at 29.00 North latitude and 79.30 East longitude at an attitude of 243.00 meters above the mean sea level. The climate of this place is sub humid sub-tropical with maximum temperature ranging from 31.0C to 41.0C in summer and minimum temperature varying from 2.00C to 10.00C in winter. Monsoon occurs from third week of June to the middle of September. Frost may be expected from last week of December to the first week of February. The soil type is clay loam having about 7.5 pH. AFRC was exclusively for research and commercial aspects of agroforestry. The centre is enriched with a wide wealth of trees like bamboo, eucalyptus, poplar, teak, shisham, ets. The centre has its own state of the art nursery to nourish it own as well as of the farmer’s requirement by providing quality planting material of agroforestry tree species.

linkages between agriculture, forest and environment on sustainable basis.
